Last year’s runner-up bags Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2012

MANILA, Philippines – Janine Mari Tugonon was crowned Miss Universe Philippines during the Binibining Pilipinas coronation night Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Tugonon previously placed first runner-up in last year’s pageant that was won by Shamcey Supsup

From 30 hopefuls, the prestigious beauty pageant also crowned Nicole Schmitz as Binibining Pilipinas International 2012 and Katrina Jayne Dimaranan as Binibining Pilipinas Tourism 2012 while Elaine Kay Moll and Annalie Forbes placed first and second runners-up, respectively.

The following Special Awards were also handed out to several candidates:
Best in National Costume – Nicole Shmitz
Miss Friendship – Chloe Zanardi
Miss Talent – Katrina Jayne Dimaranan
Manila Bulletin Reader’s Choice – Roxanne Tadique
Nestle Fitnesse Best in Swimsuit – Nicole Schmitz
People’s Binibini 2012 – Giselle Angelica Muñoz
Miss Photogenic – Karen Gallman
Miss Philippine Airlines – Mary Jean Lastimosa
Miss Avon – Mary Jean Lastimosa
Best in Long Gown – Angelee Claudett delos Reyes

    Mga Pinoy talaga, nanghahatak pababa ng kapwa ang alam.  Imbis na i-support kung sino man ang nanalo ay lalong pinapababa.  Tsk tsk tsk, wala ba kayong magawang maganda sa buhay ninyo?  mga pathetic kayo!

    hindi naman sa nanghahatak pababa pero kung runner sya last year at ang nanalo last year ay natalo sa contest na sinalihan nya, na sasalihan ng nanalo ngayon, ano ang chances ng winner ngayon sa miss universe? go figure.

    kung wala nang magaganda at may utak na babaeng sasali sa pageants na tulad nito, mabuti pa ihinto na lang ang mga contest.

    What’s the point of these beauty contests? Women relentlessly fight for respect and gender equality yet they commercialize themselves in these pageants.
