Nuvo is so now | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

The sound of music in Greenbelt 3 streams out of Nuvo—inside (where it used to be staid and clubby) and outside (where once nada was happening).  Nuvo is now become a happening place.

For good wines, good food and the best company there is for the night—from high society’s darlings and their equally social foreign friends to the yuppies, to the hard-working wage earners taking a breather from thankless 9-to-5 jobs.

Yup, Nuvo is a great equalizer!  Philip and Ching Cruz, Nuvo’s new owners, make it so.  It’s no hard work. This glamor couple are naturally populists.

One recent evening, Alan Chaung, land developer from Hong Kong, a multimillionaire many times over, dropped by with his family.  His wife Karen, who looks like a movie star ( she was one until she married Alan by whom she has four children ), delighted  Nuvo diners when  she took to the dance floor with a DI (available on request—we told you so: Nuvo is an equalizer) and did a mean spin of ballroom dancing. Imagine, if you will, an exquisite porcelain beauty doing the cha-cha, the fox trot, tango, samba, etc.

The Cruzes are now cruising the Mediterrenean in the great luxe yatch of Alan and Karen, that is when they are not docked at Cannes in the south of France.  C’est la vie!
