More News from Cat Arambulo-Antonio
Moving to Manila in 2010, Patti Grandidge became an instant hit. An entrepreneur with a knack for baking, Patti is the creator of the food blog, pattispalette.blogspot.com, and the sinfully delicious cupcakes, Sweet Patti Cakes.
Her style and natural flair snagged her a spot as one of ETC’s newest and hottest hosts of its lifestyle capsule “Etcetera.”
Young, fearless, and dynamic, Grandidge is one of Manila’s freshest and most beautiful faces and she’s here to stay.
Full name: Patricia Kristina Grandidge
College: Pepperdine University, Malibu, California, US
Degree: International Business
Profession/Occupation: Owner, Sweet Patti Cakes; TV host, “Etcetera”
Blog site: www.pattispalette.blogspot.com
Hobbies: Traveling, eating in restaurants and bakeries, baking, documenting life through pictures, spending time with family and friends
What keeps you busy?
I usually start out in the morning at 8 with my Sweet Patti Cakes staff. We work on the day’s orders and plan for anything coming up (events, customized cupcakes, photo shoots, etc). I’m also checking e-mails, researching and working on marketing/promoting the business (that usually takes me into the afternoon). When I have free time, I like to grab coffee/merienda with friends or run my errands. On a good day, you can find me working out. If it’s a taping day for “Etcetera,” I usually spend the whole day taping and come home to eat a hearty dinner.
What are the best things about hosting and running your own business?
I love that they combine my interests. I love food and fashion, and I feel like I can express both in hosting and running Sweet Patti Cakes.
For “Etcetera,” I get to dress up, learn about trends, and meet creative people in the industry. For Sweet Patti Cakes, the possibilities are endless in what I can do to satisfy my love of food.
Running my own business means I need to know all the pieces of this puzzle. When I host, I realize I’m just one piece of the puzzle that needs to work to the best of my ability to make the “whole” successful.
Where are your favorite travel destinations for the summer?
I’m finally making it to Boracay. I’ve never been there at this time of year. I also just arrived from a working trip to South Africa—that was a first for me. I’m making a trip to London next month, I’m looking forward to that.
Top three traveling essentials: Great-fitting pants, hand sanitizer and foreign currency!
Latest purchase: Coffee mugs from South Africa and some coffee beans from there too!
Describe your style: Feminine and flirty and I must also say casual and comfortable.

Everything in moderation.

Juicy steak with steak rice, grilled cheese and anything with chocolate!
What are your super food for weight loss?
Anything that can be juiced— juice it!

Exercising and staying active is the only way I know how. If there’s any other way, I’d like to know! A good hour in the gym seems to be the best for me—especially if it’s with a trainer.

Lately, most of my skin-care products are from Kiehl’s and Murad.
What do you do to maintain your skin?
Daily—I wash, tone and moisturize with my Essential C’s from Murad.
Monthly—I go to Murad at Rustan’s and get the Vitamin C facial.

Twice a day, morning and night.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received to have nice skin?
Sunscreen! I mostly use products with SPF now.
What’s your skincare secret?
It sounds so cliché, but take your makeup off before you sleep. Waking up with a clean, fresh face is essential to starting your day.
What do you use to moisturize your skin?
Murad’s Essential C day moisture with SPF 30!
Do you like being glammed up or keep your face bare?
If you see me during the day, I wear minimal makeup. Of course, if I have an event or a special occasion, I will glam up for it. I like the idea of letting my skin breathe.
Who’s your preferred make-up artist?
My makeup artist on “Etcetera,” Mayesa de los Santos, is amazing!
Do you have any makeup tricks?
Sleep is my best makeup trick! The more sleep I have, the less work they have to do on my eyebags. I’m a late sleeper, ever since I can remember. I’m working on sleeping early this year.
Favorite makeup brands:
The majority of my makeup is from MAC or Laura Mercier. MAC has all the fun shades for eyes and lips, even blushes. I use Laura Mercier for face makeup, their tinted moisturizer has been a product I’ve been using since high school.
Lipstick or lip gloss?
I’m more of a lip gloss person. I like to top off my lips, whatever shade, with MAC’s lip gloss.
How often do you get manicures and pedicures?
I love getting manis and pedis! If I’m good at scheduling it, I’ll have it once a week. Realistically, it’s every two weeks that I get it done. If it’s not a home service, I’m usually at Dashing Diva.
What’s the best nail polish brand?
Chanel is my fave nail polish brand. For some reason, their colors always seem to have the right tint and finish.
How often do you wash your hair?
Every other day. I heard that’s good for you. Is it?
How often do you go to the salon?
Not as often as I’d like! I like to get the Pureology treatment every few months. My hair thanks me after for it. I like going to Studio Fix in GB5 too.
What’s your favorite hairstyle?
Hair that looks like you haven’t done anything to it. Natural, wavy curls with volume. Is that even possible to wake up with?!
One hair product you can’t live without:
Kiehl’s silk groom serum
Do you prefer showers or bath tubs?
I’m more of a daily shower person, but I do enjoy baths when I can!
What’s your massage preference?
Massages make me so happy. The harder, the better. I get home massages and just enjoy that luxury for two hours each weekend.
Which spa do you go to?
If I go out for a spa, I’ll go to The Spa and try a full-body treatment. The scrubs or hot stones will be my preference.
What do you do to relax?
Massage, for sure. If not that, sleep!
What’s the one place people are bound to catch you in?
Chocolate Fire having my favorite latte with dark chocolate flakes or they can catch me on “Etcetera” every Sunday at 7:45 p.m. on ETC.
