Celebrating memories through scrapbooking
My niece Alex shares this DIY project with us. She made an album as a tribute to her grandfather. By incorporating decorative scrapbook accessories, she creatively composed photos of all the grandchildren.
This gift was an immediate hit on one special occasion. Everyone enjoyed looking through the pages.
I remember back in the day, when making a scrapbook entailed cutouts from magazine pages and books. Now it has become simple and easy, thanks to products available specifically for this purpose.
Adding embellishments to the collage of photos makes it visually entertaining. Choose a theme and think of a happy color scheme. All of a sudden, the album comes to life; there is movement and depth. Revive the memory by using words and phrases. Highlight pictures using stickers, frames and other accessories. Using colored mats and borders makes the page come to life.
Composing a scrapbook, orchestrating the varying textures of photographs and other design elements make a precious memory even lasting.
