Meet Team O

By

It’s more than just snacks. The people behind Oishi believe in more than just offering tasty treats, they enjoy creating products that become a part of the daily lives of Pinoys.

They wanted to celebrate this by creating everyday surprises for Filipinos, which they call “O, Wow! Moments.”  Shera Tiu, Oishi’s VP for Marketing, said, “We think Oishi is an everyday thing that gives you a wow moment. We want to surprise people on regular days.”

To achieve this, they formed Team O, a group of passionate individuals from different fields. Team O members include Elmo Magalona, Tim Yap, Slater Young, Ramon Bautista, Gang Badoy and couple Jamich. Acting as Oishi brand ambassadors, they bring joy to people by surprising them in different places—their schools, the malls, even MRT and LRT stations—and giving them a big dose of Oishi goodness.

We met most of Team O on the day of our Oishi plant tour and spent time talking to them about the campaign and their favorite Oishi snacks.

Elmo Magalona

Elmo Magalona

On being part of Team O: “I’m so glad to be a part of Team O. I’m excited to share ‘O, Wow!’ experiences with the rest of them. I think I will learn a lot.”

Elmo’s Oishi favorites:  Wafu, Marty’s, Porky Pops, Cracklings, Prawn Crackers and Kirei

Tim Yap

On being part of Team O: “I love the diversity of the group. The more people we can reach out to, the better.”

On surprising people: “On a daily basis, I like to give out prizes on Twitter, my YapForGrabs. This is an extension of that. I love making other people happy.”

His Oishi favorites: “I was wowed by Wafu. When I serve it to friends at home, they always go, ‘Oh wow, what is this?’ I also like Marty’s, Cracklings and Kirei, a yummy old favorite.”

Slater Young

On the plant tour: “It was nostalgic for me. Sa Cebu, ito yung trabaho ko, I worked in a construction company. Itong mga buildings, ‘yun yung ginagawa namin.”

Jamich

His Oishi favorites: “Smart C+ pomelo flavor and ube Pillows.”

Jamich

On being part of Team O: “Sobrang hilig namin sa snacks. It’s a dream come true. We’re so grateful to be a part of it.”

Their Oishi favorites: Jam likes Oishi’s potato chips while Mich  likes Pillows in chocolate flavor and Marty’s.
