SMDC hosts night of glamour and elegance with Miss Earth delegates

Beauties filled the SMDC Grand Showroom when SM Development Corporation and SM Food Group hosted the Evening Gown competition of the 2012 Miss Earth Pageant recently.

Delegates from Group 3 of this year’s pageant transformed the SMDC Grand Showroom into a grand promenade, where they elegantly walked in their stunning long gowns and captivated the audience as they shared their respective environmental advocacies. SMDC unit owners, who were part of the audience, also had the chance to interact with the candidates who entertained and socialized with the guests. Ms. Guatemala Stefany Miranda, Ms. Thailand Waratthaya Wongchayaporn, and Ms. Norway Nina Fjalestad took home the Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards, respectively, for the evening gown event.

At the end of the night, special awards were given to candidates who garnered the most number of votes from the audience.  Event revelers voted Ms. Pakistan ZanibNaveed as Ms. Earth SMDC, while Ms. Germany Nel-Linda Zublewitz was chosen Ms. Greenbag Mobstress.

“SMDC is honored to host one of the most anticipated events of the Miss Earth pageant. The world-class beauty of our delegates also reflects the first-rate quality and elegance of our residential projects,” expressed SMDC VP for Sales Mr. Efren Tan. “Apart from priding ourselves for being the fastest-growing developer in the country, it has also been our mission to always put in mind the welfare of the environment in every project we build. For that, we are proud to support a pageant that champions the wellbeing of future generations.”

“The environment has always been on top of SM Food Group’s advocacies, that’s why we feel it is only natural to work hand in hand with Miss Earth to create awareness especially on responsible shopping through the SM Greenbag,” said SM Food Group’s President Joey Mendoza. “The contestants have been very helpful in lending us their time and participating in the SM My Own Bag (MOB) campaign, which would also benefit other SM Cares programs.”

Aside from housing model units for different residential projects, the SMDC Grand Showroom has also served as venue for various happenings such as the Philippine Fashion Week. SMDC offers affordable, top-notch residential condominiums in prime locations around Metro Manila and Tagaytay.
