Celebrities share their makeup secrets

By

IZA Calzado

Hi, Kelly! I was wondering, can you tell me how celebrities always look good? What makeup do they use?

IVY S.

It’s no big secret. Most celebrities go to their favorite makeup artists when they need to look good.

But what we aren’t aware of is how knowledgeable and skilled these celebs are, too, when it comes to applying makeup.

It does make sense if you think about it—long hours of working usually requires them to retouch their makeup on their own. Also, working with the best makeup artists gives them access to tips and tricks most of us wouldn’t normally know.

I kept your question in mind when I went to the recent MAC Cosmetics’ Glamour Daze event. A few celebrities stood out that night, looking prettier than usual. So I asked them to share with us their best-kept makeup secrets.

Iza Calzado

Who is your favorite makeup artist? What is the best tip you learned from him/her?

My favorite makeup artist is Juan Sarte. What I learned from him is to use less makeup as much as possible; to blend, blend, blend, especially foundation and concealer; to set foundation with a puff or sponge; and to contour only when needed.

Andi Eigenmann

What makeup essentials do you always have with you on set?

I can never leave home or go to work without my Eye Brows in Lingering ( P950), Brow Set in Girl Boy, Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Dark, Studio Fix Foundation, Paint Pot (P1,100) and any MAC lipstick (MAC Saint Germain lipstick, P1,000).

What makeup do you always carry in your bag?

Studio Fix NC 42 (P1,700) has been a staple in my make up collection ever since I could remember. Very reliable!

Isabelle Daza

What is your absolute favorite makeup item? Why?

MAC Lingering Eye Brow Pencil! ’Cause I can’t leave my place without eyebrows!

(MAC Studio Fix Liquid Foundation in NC35, P1700.)

What foundation do you use? Please tell us brand and shade. What makes it so different from the other foundations you’ve tried before?

I use everyday MAC’s Loose Powder in Medium but for shoots, I use Studio Fix Liquid Foundation in NC 35. I like that it blends on my skin naturally and makes me look flawless.
