DAWN MASS SCENE

11:13 PM December 23, 2012

Outside  St. Joseph Parish Church in Las Piñas City, a vendor prepares “bibingka,” a sweet and spongy rice cake, to sell to people attending dawn Masses. The nine-day tradition of dawn Masses culminates on Christmas Eve today. It is a popular belief that people who attend all nine Masses will have their wishes granted. EDWIN BACASMAS
