Three trends to go for in 2013

By

ESTEE Lauder xMichael Kors holiday kit

Thank you, Christmas! I can now make an even better kikay kit with all the beauty products I received.

There are five trends I hope to sport in 2013, and the products I got will definitely help me achieve these looks.

Red lips

Just when I thought red lips have run their course, Burberry’s runway made me fall in love with the look all over again.

It is, after all, the easiest way to glam up. What I like most about how Burberry presented the look is, the only product visible on the face was really the red lipstick.

ARTDECO eye shadow

I also received the Estee Lauder x Michael Kors holiday kit 2012, and everything in it I just love. It came in the most beautiful shade of red, in textured leather-look makeup bags with the Michael Kors logo. The stash includes Sumptuous Mascara, an Intense Kajal Eyeliner, a three-shade Pure Color Blush, Pure Color Lipstick, Pure Color Lip Gloss, and  Pure Color Nail Color. I will definitely stick to what’s in this kit when I do the red-lips look. (Available at Rustans)

Strong eyebrows

I was always a believer in this look. Thick brows make one look younger and frame the eyes beautifully.

But not everyone is gifted with beautifully shaped thick brows. I, for one, want mine to be thicker, so I cannot stress how wonderful K-Palette products work on my brows (I am also obsessed with the brand’s eyeliners!). The pens are easy to apply; I just shade on the space where I think I should have more hair.

I also received 24H Real Lasting eyebrow liner in chocolate brown, and it definitely helps me achieve the eyebrow look I want. This waterproof eyebrow liner is made of just the right amount of translucence; the color is deep enough to conceal the sparse areas of your eyebrows, but not too dark for that severe and unforgiving tone.

If you require a darker tone, just go over the same area twice or more. It’s suitable for everyone, from beginners to professionals! It is so easy to use, and my brows look naturally thick. A definite must have for 2013! (Available at Beauty Bar)

Shimmering eye shadow

K-PALETTE eyeliner

I have always been partial to matte eye shadow, but after receiving some Artdeco shimmer creams and eye shadow, I am totally ready for all that shine.

The secret is to keep everything else matte, and the look will be glam and yet clean. I was surprised at how easy it was to wear the look—and how fun. It’s Chanel’s runway look, and now it will definitely be my party look, too.

I actually feel like I should’ve been more adventurous before, and tried a bit of sparkle in my eye shadow. But better late than never. I am fully committed now. (Available at Beauty Bar)

Have a great 2013!
