House honors Janine Tugonon

MANILA, Philippines— The House of Representative on Wednesday commended beauty queen Janine Tugonon for winning the first runner up in the Miss Universe pageant.

The lower chamber passed a resolution, introduced by Bacoor City lone district Representative Lani Mercado-Revilla, congratulating and commending Tugonon.

Lawmakers suspended session for a while to meet Tugonon after she received the congratulatory resolution.

Hailing from Bataan, the 23-year-old beauty queen snagged the first runner up title in the prestigious beauty pageant last year, earning the admiration of Filipinos around the world.

    So they passed a resolution to honor her, when she didn’t even win what she was being honored for? Getting honored by Congress doesn’t take very much apparently
