Speedo heats up the runway

It’s getting warmer and moi for one love it when the heat is on cause it means it’s beach time, dahlings.

With this heat, what could be cooler than multifunctional swimwear, sportswear and accessories like the ones we spotted at the exclusive, by-invitation-only Speedo fashion show held recently? The brand showed its colorful Spring-Summer 2013 Collection at Speedo’s world-class flagship store at Bonifacio High Street.

First in line was Speedo’s new Play and Fun collection of summer swimwear followed by Speedo’s Sculpture to the Health and Wellbeing Collection, which had that modern look, palanggas, and chi-chi feminine styling.

SPEEDO Philippines’ VP for operations Manish Mahtani, Philippine Underwater
Hockey Confederation’s Dennis Valdes, British Embassy Manila Trade and Investment Officer Derek and Merete Page, Speedo’s Nari Genomal, Speedo business development manager Harry Singh

Taking center stage was Speedo’s latest addition, Swim Fitness collection supporting its new “Speedo Fit” brand campaign,

Naturellement, the rain poured and we all had to dash to a makeshift tent, while in the spirit of the “show must go on,” the models sashayed around the très slippery ramp with all the poise they could muster. Surprisingly enough, the wet atmosphere was perfect for Speedo’s swimwear, n’est ces pas?

Topping the  show were top athletes all wearing the revolutionary Speedo Fastskin3 Racing System, no less, dahlings, led by the awesome Arnel Aba, who has overcome physical challenges proving “that there is always a way to reach one’s goals if one puts in that extra effort.” The differently abled swimmer and record-holder received a standing ovation with thunderous applause from all the guests for inspiring and motivating athletes to perform their best against all odds, wow!

Hotshot guests of honor included Harry Singh, regional business development manager of Speedo International Ltd.; Tom Carrasco, Philippine Olympic Committee chair; Mayor Edward Hagedorn; Derek and Merete Page from the UK Trade and Investments office; and José Joseph, First Secretary of the Indian Embassy.
