A Scottish-Filipino fusion wedding

Love at any age is simply wonderful. Love and marriage together, when the couple is in their golden age, is magically sweeter.

Last April 20, my dear friend, Thalassa Mary Adela Gatlin Elizalde, daughter of Fred J. Elizalde and the late Joan Gatlin, decided to make it official. She exchanged vows with Robert Raymond del Rosario in a charming ceremony at San Sebastian Church in Manila.

It is often said that your children will always surprise you, and I only realized how true it was when my second son Jason married the love of his life, Nikki Boncan. It truly was a wedding of surprises.

First of all, this is a chapter in my life I do not expect everyone to understand and accept. It is, as I have said, my life. I’ve realized that, at this age, there is no magic timeline, no perfect things to say or do that can make everyone agree with you.

Children and spouses present were Roberto and Janet Gandionco, Dr. Enrico and Judith Gandionco, Joseph and Cora Gandionco, Neli and Ofelia Gandionco, Patty and Rodeon Uy. [...]
