Day of gratitude

When Toblerone first launched National Thank You Day in 2007, it was a response to The Great Reader?s Digest Global Courtesy Test, where Manila ranked number 22 as ?among the least courteous cities in the world.? Well, this became a call for Filipinos to revive the lost art of saying ?Thank you,? dahlings.

In recent surveys, our country has been recognized as the ?Most Courteous Asian Country,? said Carlo Licuanan, senior brand manager, Kraft Foods (Philippines) Inc. Now, that calls for a real wow, palanggas.

Nominees are Filipino fashion designer for her world-class bridal gowns, Monique Lhuillier; Best Director Award at Cannes International Film Festival Brilliante Mendoza for his film ?Kinatay;? and one of the greatest leaders of all time for her fight for freedom and democracy, the late President Cory Aquino.

Toblerone, together with Rep. Cynthia Villar of Las Piñas, is encouraging Filipinos to join this worthy cause. She has passed House Bill No. 5466 to make National Thank You Day a national holiday.

Regarding this, I remember the words of well-known author and life coach Zig Ziglar: ?Of all the ?attitudes? we can acquire, surely the attitude of gratitude is the most important and by far the most life-changing.? Thank you, sir, well-said.

Go to http://thankyoudayphilippines.com and vote the person you think has the National Thank You Day spirit. Go for it, palanggas.
