PLAINS & PRINTS UNVEILED ITS NEW holiday collection in collaboration with talented and versatile fashion designer Randy Ortiz, no less, palanggas.

The lobby of the Ayala Museum was buzzing with beautiful faces, wearing their most stylish black and white garb, celebrating Ortiz’s fashion from Plains & Prints.

Welcoming us were Plains & Prints creative head and owner Roxanne Farillas and Randy O.

“It has always been our goal to work with designers like Randy Ortiz who have made such a huge impact in the Philippine fashion industry. This collaboration merged the signature looks of both Randy and Plains & Prints,” explained Roxanne F., dahlings.

Their couture collection brought together legendary mega supermodels Marina Benipayo, Annette Coronel, Patty Betita, Suyen Chi, Jo-Ann Bitagcol and Wilma Doesnt.

Wowing the crowd was the use of digital printing on fabric, a new innovation in fabric design and production. A brilliant idea, if I may say so, dahlings.

Plains & Prints took fashion to a higher level by holding “Buyer’s Night,” which helped raise funds for the victims of Tropical Storms “Ondoy” and “Pepeng.” Twenty percent of the sales from pre-orders will be donated to flood victims, palanggas.

The unveiling of Randy Ortiz for Plains & Prints couture collection was successfully organized by that lady who delivers the best, Marilen Nuñez and her rah! rah! team from LEN Plus Inc., dahlings. Shoes are from Schu; jewelry by Jewelmer; cocktails and drinks by Future Trade International and Cointreau.

Check out the Randy Ortiz collection for Plains & Prints at 50 stores nationwide. You’ll love it, palanggas.

Night with the devil

I would never spend a night with the Devil, but with last week’s Halloween happenings all over town including one in Boracay, I decided to check out the chic, upscale Amber Ultra Lounge, where one of the world’s largest wine companies, Concha Y Toro, from Chile, exclusively distributed by Fly Ace Corp. in the Philippines, threw an exceptionally decadent bash, dahlings, called “Spend a Night with the Devil” as tribute to the brand’s famous wine label, Casillero del Diablo.

It was definitely a night of debauchery as we were spoiled with an open bar on Casillero del Diablo wines and the privilege to first try the newest variant, Carmenere, Chile’s very own grape. The theme was red and black, and we were provided with lighted devil’s horns and masks with the Diablo’s logo on it, palanggas.

Cyber event planner Edda Joyce Garcia threw in a diabolic mini fashion show, Make Up For Ever team and Ruel Papa of L’Oreal Professionnel added glitz, Joshua Santos of Onecore Productions staged the show, popular DJ Manolet Dario was the devilish master of the deck, and the divine buffet was by chef wizard Stephanie Zubiri of Modern Epicurean Kitchen.

Joanna Lhuillier bags

Statuesque head turner Joanna Lhuillier, a renowned Cebu-based British bag and accessories designer, is one of a kind, palanggas. All crafted by hand, Joanna brings a family tradition of international design and her own distinctive style to the industry, dahlings. In her own words, “I can only make my bags in the Philippines. This is because of the attention to detail that it requires and the patience that Filipinos have.” Joanna jetted into town from Cebu to celebrate her JML line, with her gorgeous muses mostly from Cebu’s alta sociedad: Cristalle Belo-Henares, Kai Nakanishi-Lim, Bea Constantino, Nicole Whisenhunt, Claudine de Leon, Theresa Leung, Kim Yao, MC Person, Noelle Hilario, Clarissa Reyes, Pam Gonzales, Trina Sunico and Olivia Francisco.

I moved on to another happening at 11:30 p.m. and the chi-chi guests were still sipping their Grey Goose Martinis and Bacardi cocktails while getting a closer look at the designer’s creations at Members Only, dahlings.

Prive II is Members Only fashion series that is getting bigger and better, palanggas.

Rikki Jimenez birthday

It was a dizzy weekend for philanthropist and hair and makeup guru Rikki Jimenez, when my friend celebrated for a day his 60th successful year of his glam life, dahlings. A truly intimate lunch given by his super pal, gorgeous beauty and brains ABS-CBN president Charo Santos Concio at her eye-catching, renovated home in La Vista. Rikki, who has been celebrating his birthday with lavish parties for the past 15 years, opted for a quiet lunch with his chosen pals, considering the difficult times now, palanggas.

Rikki’s party coincided with the anniversary of his Rikki J and Friends Foundation Inc. (RJFFI ), a nonprofit, nongovernment organization engaged in providing educational, medical, dental and financial assistance to the country’s less fortunate.

Among the lunch bunch were Charo and her husband, TOYM awardee Cesar Concio Jr., and lawyer Ningning Muñoz of Professional Managers Inc.

Charo, Ningning and Tereret Tambunting Liboro are all RJFFI officials. Other RJFFI members are Harrison Plaza’s COO and Belco Marketing Inc. chair Belen Lovina Ticzon-Martel, film director Mel Chionglo, and Cement Association of the Philippines president Ernesto Ordoñez.

Rikki’s Foundation will be going on a medical mission by yearend in Quezon province.

May you have many more blessings to come, palangga, Our King For A Day, Rikki Jimenez.
