Sinulog at Nuvo
The awesome Sinulog festival had the dancers? and spectators? adrenaline pumping by day, but by night, it was the posh Nuvo of Greenbelt 2 in Makati that conquered the city and its young and young at heart, affluent partying set, with its resident DJ Arnel Genterone dishing out super house tracks with mix masters Hans Congmon, Marlon Orellano and Jude Flores. The following day, Saturday, Nuvo took us back to the fabulous days of the ?80s and ?90s with hot sexy disco, palanggas. Hosting both swinging nights was his royal highness, the king of nightlife himself, Louie Ysmael reunited with his Nuvo angel, Cacay Moras.
When everyone started feeling the club bug bite, Vudu was the next stop. Thursday gave us a little Hendrix, The Cure and Billy Idol as the Purple Helmets took us back in time, dahlings. On Friday, Tag Asia, the country?s premiere privilege-membership club launched in Cebu with DJ Skratchmark doing his thing together with Vudu?s RnB residents Kutlyfe and Krizz in the main room while Marlon Orellano and Maxie Perez cradled the Privé Lounge. On Saturday, the godfathers of house music and club culture in the country, NBK, brought the house down. The duo of Manolet Dario and Bombi Balquiedra shattered all boundaries as they were joined live by guitar marvel Chico Cristobal.
It was an upbeat, awesome night that no one will forget. After the parade on Sunday, everyone dashed over to check out Hey Jude Boracay?s DJ Manster as he kept the beat going until everyone got exhausted with the dancing.
Sponsors were Coors Light and San Mig Light beers, PLDT Watchpad and RCTV. Photographers were Paolo Mañalac for Vudu and Jay Dalumpines for Formo.

Over 500 excellent wines and spirits form 20 countries, like Argentina, Australia, Austria, Chile, France, Russia and the United States, perfectly matched with the superb gastronomic fare, compliments of the genius chefs of New World Hotel Makati.
A luxurious treat was in store for all of us, when wines started pouring at 6 p.m. onward at the Grand Ballroom of the hotel, palanggas.
?This yearly Grand Wine Experience is all about wine, food and people. This event has become a must-attend for wine connoisseurs, as well as for the gourmands who know what it?s all about,? said the grand expert of wine and other spirits, bubbly personality Ralph Joseph, no less, palanggas.
Co-presented by Philippine Wine Merchants and Ralph?s Wines & Spirits in cooperation with Beam Global Spirits & Wine, New World Hotel Makati City, Bestworld Beverage Brands Inc., Future Trade International, Fly Ace Corp., Rustans, Shopwise Super Center, Store Specialists Inc., Starbucks Coffee, Philippine Airlines, Air Philippines, Philippine Star, Team Philippines, Department of Tourism and The Philippine Tourism Authority.
I had to say ?quits? by 1:30 a.m. with the bash still going on at full blast. Well, why not, after all those exquisite wines and divine food, how could anyone leave, although I noticed several guests staggering out of the ballroom, while others were being helped to get to their chauffeur-driven cars.
Now that?s exactly what a great wine and food event is all about, dahlings. Di bala?
