DR. AIVEE AGUILAR-TEO has brought lipotomy to the Philippines, a non-invasive one-session procedure guaranteed to make one lose weight, at least two dress sizes at the end of two weeks.

After I made sure I was not pregnant I went for it to look good on my birthday. I had my upper, lower and sides of the abdomen plus bra line treated as these gained the most girth during fertility treatments.

Preparation

Set aside four hours for this day. You can take oral painkillers so you feel zero pain and barely remember the procedure. I opted against it for I needed to remember if there was any discomfort and settled for topical anesthesia left on for an hour. You are weighed then measured on the bra line, waist, upper and lower hip.

Procedure

There is a bag filled with saline solution and minerals attached to a drip and triangle-shaped tip with three needle points. The aestheticians then ice the area to be treated to further numb them followed by Dr. Aguilar-Teo plunging the three needles to the fatty areas to inflate the fat cells making them fragile. Some fat cells already rupture during this time. Honestly, I felt nothing at all in most areas and only a slight, tolerable twitch in some.

Done after an hour, the aestheticians then use a machine with ultrasound therapy for 15 minutes. Cavitation follows for five minutes for those already broken to be drained and metabolized by our own lymphatic system. Then the vibrating machine and flat iron paddle follow. These extra steps are meant to vibrate, rupture, liquefy and push out stubborn fat cells which are then excreted through urine and perspiration. You are then poured into a dominatrix-like compression garment with strategically located holes for bathroom access which covers below the knee all the way up to the bottom of your breasts and instructed to wear it for 24 hours on the first week. You bathe and sleep with it after two weeks.

Downside

Ankles started swelling due to cut-off circulation and rashes formed on my inner thighs so I had to remove the garment during the first week while sleeping. Putting it back on was torture as it was so tight it took 45 minutes. By week two I was in the tightest setting and effortlessly could put the suit on. I had four free follow-up control sessions which involved the ultrasound machine, cavitation, vibrating and flat iron. A. Fifteen minutes of sound waves alternated between pricking intense heat and itching which I have very low tolerance for. This was the worst for me because they kept increasing intensity at each session. My threshold was 40-50 while most people are 75. B. Cavitation, vibrating and flat iron were worst during post-lipotomy and the first control session as I was bruised so the sensation felt like a jackhammer on ribs mixed with tickle torture with the flat iron. These became a breeze during the last two sessions. Those who are bigger may need more lipotomy rounds.

Final results

On the last day of the second week I was measured and found to have lost only two pounds with 4 centimeters or 1.575 inches each off my waist, upper and lower hips (saddlebags). My bra line lost 3 centimeters which is just a little over an inch but that seemingly small measure eliminated lumpy back fat above and below the bra giving me a smooth line plus I went from the outermost hook to the tightest setting with cup size intact. I dropped two dress/pants sizes as promised with the muffin top hips eliminated. I could wear my old pants again with most sliding off the waist to rest on the hip. The lower hip was a surprise loss as it was not a treated area. Apparently the saline solution spreads and the compression garment also ruptures fat.
