SM HYPERMARKET WILL PRESENT the winners of its ?Jazz Up Your Green Bag? contest in a series of exhibits this January in various branches to instill awareness on environment preservation among its shoppers.
The competition, which attracted almost 300 entries from 19 SM Hypermarket branches, encouraged shoppers to creatively design with holiday theme their SM Green Bags using environment-friendly or recyclable materials such as paper scraps, bottle caps, old newspapers, leaves, rattan.
Fifty-seven entries were declared the best masterpieces, winning first, second and third prizes. The winners received SM gift certificates and gift baskets.
The first reusable shopping bag of its kind in the country, the SM Green Bag is a recyclable, nontoxic, multi-purpose bag aimed at reducing the use of plastics, especially in shopping. To further help promote its use, SM Green Bags are sold buy-one-take-one during ?My Own Bag? day (Wednesdays) in selected SM Supermarket, SM Hypermarket and SM SaveMore outlets.
SM Hypermarket has branches in Sucat, Bicutan, Marilao, Valenzuela, Molino, Clark, Mall of Asia, North Edsa, Pasig, Taytay, Muntinlupa, Rosales, Baliwag, Mandaluyong, Fairview, Makati, Las Piñas, Novaliches and Centris Station.
