THANKSGIVING IS HARVEST FESTIVAL. It is celebrated to give thanks for the bountiful harvest, much like our own Pahiyas Festival. As a western tradition, it is a time to express gratitude, a time of abundant meals with family and friends.
For dinners to be hosted on this day, spruce up table with harvest theme. Use autumn colors (orange, vermilion, persimmon) for table linens.
Create a table centerpiece by grouping vegetables or spices in containers (bell peppers, cinnamon barks, carrots, radishes, zucchini, aubergine, garlic and onion bulbs are ideal).
We found these unusual ornamental vegetables from Rustan?s Supermarket and used them as place card holders. Use colored board paper for the place cards (calling card size is ideal). Punch a hole in the upper corner.
Use grass or raffia to attach the place card by looping it through the punched hole in the board paper and tying it around the ornamental vegetable.
