IT?S THE SEASON FOR THAT chic sport which is polo, dahlings. The rich, nouveau riche, the famous, diplomats, beautiful people and tons of hard-core polo enthusiasts all went to the prestigious Enrique Zobel Field of Manila Polo Club for the Past Presidents? Cup, palanggas.
The action began with the low goal match between the Gold and Blue teams. The game was hot and fast until it finished with a score of 4-3 in favor of the smooth Gold team.
Then it was time for the program to begin after drinks were served at the polo terrace with the ceremonial throw-in led by former MPC namedroppable presidents and incumbent president Juan B. Santos. President Santos welcomed the crowd and officially announced the start of the season after which the polo players did the traditional parade, which cued in the highly anticipated high goal match.

Chivas Regal campaign
That high-end drink with the suave set, Chivas Regal unveiled the Live with Chivalry campaign at the chi-chi, upscale Establishment Bar at The Fort, with a stylish and successful turnout as the country?s dashing and beautiful came in full chivalry mode, dahlings. Hotshot regional mentoring manager for Chivas Brothers Limited, the brilliant Darren Hosie jetted in from Scotland, leading the ceremonial toast. There was an endless flow of sumptuous hors d?oeuvres and overflowing Chivas on the rocks for the men and specially concocted Chivas cocktails for the women.
The highlight was honoring some of the country?s distinguished gentlemen ?who embody the values of chivalry: gallantry, brotherhood, freedom and honor.?
Indeed, the theme of the Chivas campaign has become even more relevant today, palanggas, because, thank goodness, people are going back to basics and honoring timeless, intrinsic values.
Cheers, chivalry!
