IT?S ANOTHER exciting year for Hennessy XO for true connoisseurs and collectors, dahlings, as 2010 marks the awesome 140th year of this excellent cognac with tons of global happenings. Hennessy hosted a hard-to-beat cocktails and dinner. Their six-course menu was enough to make any gourmand sigh with satisfaction, dahlings. I just went gaga over the divine pumpkin soup scented with lime juice and fresh coriander. Held at Manila Peninsula?s Rigodon Ballroom, the event overflowed with smooth Hennessy XO.
The unveiling of the Hennessy XO Mathuselem by Berluti was a jaw-dropper, dahlings. It featured air dancers and three awesome singers who gave us goose bumps with the blending of their voices in different styles: modern, jazz and operatic. Wow! Then it was time to sip Hennessy XO Mathuselem that fits perfectly in a locked crocodile leather chest inspired by Venetian gondolas and designed by Olga Berluti herself, 150 pieces have been handcrafted and only one is in the country.
Jetting in from Singapore was Hennessy brand ambassador, the dashing and handsome Arnaud Mirey, no less, who said that ?the creation of Hennessy XO was in 1870 and how it remains to this day a prestigious cognac with its superb fragrances, and Hennessy XO Opus 140, collector?s edition of Hennessy XO.? For the finale, a Hennessy XO Opus was raffled off and the winner was none other than the gentleman of all seasons, Lexus? charming president Danny Isla, palanggas.

2nd Grey Goose invitational golf tournament
That popular booze of the well-heeled crowd Grey Goose vodka held its second invitational golf tournament at the majestic Sta. Elena Golf Club, with the tourney?s list of hotshot namedroppables hitting that golf ball during a fun day, among them hot PR gent with high confidence in his game, GP Reyes; Capone?s Jay Server; and international businessman Marcel Crespo. How?s that for namedropping, dahlings?
?Golf, as a luxury aspirational sport is a natural fit with the Grey Goose image. It?s their attention to detail that makes it special. As we did last year, it?s truly an honor to have a tournament like this and we look forward to the third one next year, which will be even better,? say the event organizers.
An awesome 19th-hole bash and awarding ceremony followed at the spanking new Velocity Bar at Marriot Hotel in Newport City where Grey Goose had loads of signature cocktails, and created superb delectable appetizers, palanggas. At the ideal sports bar, the invitees played games that Grey Goose had in the entire venue. There was the putting contest, a major hit with everyone, with the Grey Goose putter as prize. Others were seen flexing their muscles to win the longest drive competition.
The winners were Jake Fleta, B Willy Tee Ten, Javy Legarda, Cielo Fregil and Jet Mathay.
