TO HELP REBUILD THE LIVES OF flood victims, the University of the Philippines Alumni Association, Inc. (UPAA) will stage ?Pagbangon,? a musical-literary concert showcasing acclaimed UP artists and guest celebrities, on Dec. 12, at 2 and 7 p.m., UP Theater in Diliman, Quezon City. UPAA first vice president Behn Cervantes will direct.

The first half of the program will feature UP officials, including UP president Emerlinda Roman, UP regent and UPAA president Alfredo Pascual, and UP Diliman chancellor Sergio Cao, and well-known UP alumni such as Jessica Soho and Joonee Gamboa?reading poems about fortitude, courage and sharing.

To perform musical numbers are classical guitarist Lester Demetillo, flutist Sonny Yangco, as well as performers Ana Feleo, Dondi Ong, Lara Maigue, Fides Asencio, Joseph Olfindo, Pinky Marquez, Bing Pimentel, Jonathan Badon, Emlyn Santos, Bibeth Orteza, Jeanne Velasco Vicars, Susan Tagle, Maricris Joaquin and Jonaf del Fierro.

Also performing are the UP Cherubim and Seraphim, UP Manila Chorale, UP-JMEG Choir and Maria Della Strada Chorale. UP College of Music alumna Emlyn Olfindo-Santos is musical director.

The second part will be emceed by Winnie Monsod and Edru Abraham. To perform are Sarah Geronimo, Celia Laurel, Cocoy Laurel, Marco Sison, Gina Alajar, Cesar Montano, Celeste Legaspi and Leo Valdez.

Senators Francis ?Chiz? Escudero, Loren Legarda and Manuel Villar will also participate.
