GLORIOUS EASTER COMES TO THE Archdiocese of Tuguegarao as it celebrates the 100 years of its canonical erection. St. Pius X signed the Apostolic Decree creating a separate diocese from the Diocese of Nueva Segovia on April 10, 1910.
Tuguegarao Archbishop Diosdado Talamayan leads in the celebration, together with 80 priests from all the parishes in Cagayan Valley. The theme revolves around the 100 years of ?Growing Together in Age, Wisdom and Grace.? The jubilee celebration is aimed at remembering and learning from the past, rejoicing in thanksgiving for the gifts bestowed upon the local Church, both clergy and laity.
Seven churches were designated to open their jubilee doors to welcome pilgrims, one in each vicariate, during the year-long jubilee celebration from 2010-2011. They are: Metropolitan Cathedral of St. Peter in Tuguegarao being the seat of the archdiocese; St. Dominic de Guzman Parish Church in Lal-lo being the first parish to be established in Cagayan and former seat of the See of Nueva Segovia; St. Anne Parish Church in Buguey; St. Peter Martyr Parish Church in Pamplona; Holy Cross Parish Church in Ballesteros; St. Philomene Parish Church in Alcala; and Holy Guardian Angels Parish Church in Tuao, one of the mission churches administered by St. Francisco Capillas, OP, pro-martyr.
Holy doors of these churches will simultaneously open on April 25. In visiting the Jubilee churches, the pilgrims will receive a plenary indulgence.

Curious as to how The Seven Last Words has kept on being aired for the past 23 years, I asked Meng Canlas who answered, ?My dad (Bro. Ben Canlas) and I would not have been able to go on without the help of our sponsors. Production is expensive, especially going around the Philippines.?
