It?s all about Pinoy power in the coming week. Show your love for country via these three events
Rock on
The havoc that ?Ondoy? and ?Pepeng? ensued is still not over. There are plenty of people who still need help. The good news is that relief never looked this good. The Katy Perry Rocks for Relief concert on Nov. 14 is dubbed as the biggest fundraising concert for typhoon victims. It will be held at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds, Bay City, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City. Other stars who are set to join are Arnel Pineda and Neal Schon of Journey as well as MAE, an American band. Contact Ticketworld (891-9999, www.ticketworld.com.ph).

Manny talk

Set your alarm for 8 on Nov. 15, a Sunday morning, because Manny Pacquiao is making a bid for history. The People?s Champ and erstwhile late-night talk show crooner is going to face off with Puerto Rico?s Miguel Cotto for the WBO welterweight title. If he wins, he will be the first fighter to take a title in seven different weight classes. Watch the match, dubbed as Firepower, in four large screens at the Araneta Coliseum, Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City for uninterrupted action. For tickets, contact Ticketnet (911-5555, www.ticketnet.com.ph).

Local flavor

Is there anything nowadays that is not made in China? Still, find out how local products can be just as interesting and first-rate at the Yabang Pinoy Global Bazaar 2009 on Nov. 14 and 15 at the Rockwell Tent, Makati City. Almost 130 entrepreneurs are participating and offering limited-edition products. The event is part of Yabang Pinoy?s ?Filipino First? advocacy. For more information, visit www.yabangpinoy.com.
