Two new “heroes” are coming to our homes soon. Sarah Benjamin from Singapore and Michele Lean from Malaysia triumphed over nearly 300 talent hopefuls to become the new faces of Asian Food Channel and Food Network and of “Food Hero”, according to Scripps Networks Interactive, one of the leading producers of engaging lifestyle content in the home, food and travel categories.
One of my favorite chefs on the Asian Food Channel is Anna Olson. It’s not just because I met her during her visits to the Philippines and found her very personable; it’s also because her TV shows “Fresh,” “Sugar” and “Bake with Anna Olson” are all very informative and helpful.
Going to a friend’s condo unit, I was puzzled that a little boy was going the same way. He must have been puzzled as well because he kept looking at me. We both waited at the door and when it was opened, he was called out by name, Theo Marmonier.
Looking more relaxed now, Asian Food Channel’s “Next Celebrity Chef” winner Dino Ferrari and finalist Diane Montecillo displayed anew the gung-ho confidence that had set them apart at the start of the contest.
