Cebu bids goodbye to Canadian envoy; concert to feature soprano Aileen Lee Li

HONORARY Consul of Canada Robert Lee and his wife Anna present a farewell gift to Canada’s Ambassador Christopher Thornley.

Canada’s Ambassador Christopher Thornley was in Cebu recently for the inaugural of the Canadian Welding Bureau Facility and Hospitality Center. The occasion feted the 115 graduates who went through an eight-month training program.

Special days for Japan and Canada in Cebu


The birthday of Emperor Akihito of Japan was celebrated in Cebu with a reception hosted by Japanese Ambassador Toshinao Urabe. It was held at the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel with a good representation of the Japanese community, government officials and the Cebu Consular Corps.
