How about a rice terraces mountain adventure?

It’s officially summer, with temperatures hitting the mid-30s. Many will most likely be heading to the beaches, as we have some of the best in the world. But how about going to higher ground instead to explore the Cordillera Mountains, site of our world-famous rice terraces?

Trekking and tumbling to help save Ifugao’s rice terraces

Before visiting Banaue last year, I had never heard of Mayoyao, Hungduan, Batad or Kiangan. To me, they were all just part of the Banaue rice terraces.

There is a home–with good food–amid the Terraces

The town of Kiangan in Ifugao is reached after a long drive through landscapes of forested mountains and rushing streams. I had the sense that we were far from everything else, but in truth we were but a few hours outside the bustling cities of the Cagayan Valley.
