Two years after establishing his “design furniture” company, and a year after featuring his one-of-a-kind furniture pieces of recycled Philippine hardwood in a gallery in Makati, artist and furniture designer Niccolo Jose has expanded his art by offering the public designer doors, handrails and even waterproof wooden sinks.

Artist does unique furniture using hardwood

Even before US-educated Filipino sculptor Niccolo Jose used his training in the visual arts to create functional art pieces such as furniture, “pyrographic” portraitures and even costume jewelry, the young artist has been into carpentry. He’s been doing carpentry work, in fact, since he was 10.
