Ten performers, one stage, and sunset-to-sunrise partying. Close-Up brought together local and international performers for a hot, grand party—the “Summer Solstice” concert that rocked the Mall of Asia open grounds recently. It was headlined by Grammy-award winner DJ Afrojack.
Sandwich frontman Raymund Marasigan is a busy man. Apart from being the lead vocalist of Sandwich, he also plays bass synth for Pedicab, bass guitar for Gaijin and drums for Cambio and Barrio Radyo. There’s also the occasional reunion concert with Eraserheads. The guys had just finished touring the United States last year.
A very dear relative, who was here recently for the Christmas holidays, gave me this recipe for an upscale grilled cheese sandwich. Upscale, perhaps, is the operative word here. Unlike the classic grilled cheese sandwich which uses plain cheddar, this one is made with mozzarella and Gruyère, Italian and Swiss cheeses. But the real surprise in the sandwich is the mango jam. Tart and sweet, it harmonizes with the cheeses to create a perfectly balanced and delectable flavor.
