It was an unusual literary year as the bestseller lists were dominated by a trilogy of erotic novels and a controversial political biography. But book lovers still found gems as the bookshelves saw the arrival of diverse and distinctive titles, both foreign and local, for readers of all kinds. It was a welcome exercise in creativity and compelling storytelling.
