My wanderlust, this desire to travel, started at a young age. My father contributed to it because he could decide in an instant that he wanted to go somewhere. There were times my siblings and I would wake up to find ourselves at the back of our Chevy station wagon in Baguio in our pajamas.
WELL, that isn’t entirely true. Tita Susan Calo-Medina and I were not related by blood. What bound us together were our shared interests in the people, culture and traditions of this country, good art, clear writing and a host of other subjects. Travel, of course, was one of those.
Susan Calo-Medina, host of the award-winning television show “Travel Time,” died of a heart attack last Thursday. She was 73.
