New mall can even arrange your wedding proposal

INSTEAD of building another shoebox-like structure, developers behind Century City Mall resorted to creative uses of limited land to produce another lifestyle and architectural gem in Makati City.

Century Properties Group, the developer behind high-end residential towers Gramercy, Knightsbridge, Trump Tower and Milano Residences, didn’t let space limitations stop it from building perhaps one of the best shopping malls in the country.

In a little-known development, Inquirer Lifestyle learned that the London-based Filipino fashion designer Lesley Mobo designed a well-received graphic T-shirt line for Japanese giant Uniqlo last season. He is now working on a second capsule collection.

Uniqlo opens first branch for 2013

UNIQLO’S Spring/Summer 2013 collection offers a variety of colors and print designs with high-quality fabrics of Japanese standard. This year, Uniqlo presents the key product categories, which include color and prints; functional wear such as Airism; and the UT collections with new graphics and designs.

Uniqlo its first store in the Philippines this year today at SM Aura Premier in Taguig City, with three more openings scheduled until June.

Super’s import wish list


Japanese favorite Uniqlo just opened its second store in the Philippines at The Block at SM North Edsa and it was enthusiastically welcomed by Pinoy shoppers (You should go too. They have special opening discounts—jeans are just P590, fleece jackets are just P790). Australian brand Cotton On has also arrived. There are stores in Bonifacio High Street, SM Megamall, SM Mall of Asia, Lucky China Town Mall and SM North Edsa and we’re psyched—we love their super-comfy dresses.

After a Sunday afternoon at Tsutaya, one of Tokyo’s popular bookstores, my friend and I were about to part ways when he insisted I stop by at Ginza. Ginza on a Sunday is a must-see for any tourist because the roads are closed to transportation, turning the wide swath of concrete into a walking and picnic area for the residents of the city.
