There was a time when vampires did not sparkle. They were beautiful, yes, but also extremely dangerous, brooding creatures who shunned the sun because exposure would immolate them.
Move over, vampires. Or at least make some room for another type of the living dead because zombies are slowly but surely walking their way to our hearts. They’re everywhere, from the book shelves to the silver screen—even the streets, as proven by the Outbreak Manila runs, 5-km marathons that involve being chased by flesh-eating zombies (now how’s that for inspiration to reach the finish line?). There is actually another one scheduled on Halloween at Enchanted Kingdom.
Perhaps one of the good things to come out of the “Twilight” phenomenon is that it has unleashed a broad range of vampire stories on the bookshelves.
Being bedridden isn’t as bad as I thought it would be, especially if one can enjoy the benefits of Korean cable TV, haha. But that’s another article that I’ll save for another time.
