Dusting your ceiling fan

PLACE vinegar solution in spray bottle. Spray the inside of an old pillowcase until damp, then carefully insert a ceiling fan blade into the pillowcase.
ONCE the pillowcase is in place, gingerly grasp the pillowcase with both hands and slowly pull the pillowcase away. Repeat process with the other blades.

Dust always finds its way everywhere as the weather heats up. Ceiling fans are no exception. With a few things you’ve got at home, this task can get a little bit easier. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Cotton pillowcase
  • Spray bottle
  • White distilled vinegar + water
  • Step ladder/stool (to reach the fan)

Mix 1 part white distilled vinegar to 2 parts water in the spray bottle. Spray inside of the pillowcase until damp. Insert a blade inside the pillowcase and wipe the dust off as you run the case through it. Your ceiling fan blade should be dust-free and shiny when you pull out the pillowcase!
