A secret garden

INSTRUMENTS needed: a stick that can serve as a ruler when cutting the astroturf, a pair of scissors, nonslip tape to keep the turf in place, a brush for cleaning and gloves for protection

If you’re one of the many who live in apartments or condominiums and you long for your little piece of greenery, here’s an idea shared by creative couple Ting and Pillar Estrella.

All you need are the following materials: a low stool so you won’t strain your back when working on the ground, a stick that can serve as a ruler when cutting the astroturf, a pair of sharp scissors, nonslip tape to keep the turf in place, a brush for cleaning and gloves for protection.

ASTROTURF is also a social space, an outdoor living room.

Cutting the astroturf is not as easy as you think. Patience and a little elbow grease will go a long way in this project.

When the astroturf is new, the grass blades are flat, that’s why you can see the difference in color. You’ll have to prop up the blades and make them stand.

These are our old patio chairs that have found their way to their new home in the Secret Garden. Breakfast with the kids tomorrow will be served here at 9 a.m.
