Beautiful skin is a gift and a blessing which every individual appreciates. Enter Skin Peel which starts with cleansed facial skin then dry microdermabrasion to remove dead and damaged skin cells followed by wet microdermabrasion, which allows deeper penetration and distribution when it deposits the necessary serum infusion to treat your skin’s concern. The four skin infusions are geared toward specific concerns.

 

1. Lumixyl Solution—deals with lightening dark spots, aka hyperpigmented skin, to diminish spots caused by age and photodamage and brightens all over skin tone for a luminous radiant look. The solution contains Arbutin, mulberry and kojic acid. I tried this at e-derm clinic, Pampanga (tel. 0922- 8223892 or +6345-3040000).  Theirs includes an elite facial with head, shoulder and back massage.

 

2. Hydration—for very dry and/or sensitive skin.  Reduces fine lines and wrinkles, soothes redness and inflammation, and gently exfoliates and smoothens texture without irritation. Contains hyaluronic acid, aloe and chamomile.

 

3. Clarifying formula—for oily, acne-prone skin. Contains salicylic acid to unclog pores, promote cell turnover, and disinfect and dry up pimples;  aloe to calm inflammation; and Tone Abrasion to exfoliate and smoothen without irritating sensitive skin.  Tried at Skin Specialist, Timog QC (tel. 3748087).  Dr. Jean Marquez usually combines two infusions that complement each other to boost positive effects like Hydration with Clarifying or Vitamin C with Lumixyl depending on client’s needs.

 

4. Vitamin C—for detoxification and rejuvenation of dull, tired, damaged-looking skin.  Contains Tocopherol to protect skin from photodamage and improves appearance of scars and wrinkles; Vitamin C to brighten, protect against photodamage, help boost sunscreen efficacy, improve collagen fibers; and Allantoin and Dipotassium for inflammation. Sensitive skincare—After Silk Peel, one is advised to take a more active approach to skin hydration. At this time, irritants like harsh chemicals can cause discomfort and even discoloration.

 

My tested brands:  Avene Extremely Gentle cleanser and Spring water spray, Celeteque Hydration line (facial wash, toner and moisturizer) and Skeyndor Aquatherm Line which has a choice between oily sensitive and dry sensitive skin.

 

Whether you have undergone some aggressive facial/skin treatment or if you are one of those who have very sensitive skin that breaks out in rashes during extreme heat or cold, you need sun protection specifically made for sensitive skin or you may end up with breakouts if you use standard sunblock.

 

Avene Emulsion SPF50 PA+++ (P1,350) for very sensitive skin is also extra water-resistant plus did not cause breakouts on my very sensitive skin during this time.
