Now that well-known designer Edgar Allan has launched his “big sizes” in his new shop at the Glorietta I, there is hope for big women who have always wanted to wear his designs, but couldn’t because the designer always stuck to slim and slinky dresses.
The new store was launched with a fashion show that also celebrated 30 years of partnership between Edgar Allan Trono and Rene Tiongco, a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
Displayed at the store are sizes that range from small to large to extra large. Hanging from the windows are styles showing career outfits and formal wear that are stylish and versatile. When Allan and Tiongco first opened at the Atrium in Makati in 1983, fashionistas instantly took notice of the freshness of the clothes. Emphasis was given to the woman’s form, with clothes that were close-fitting and slim.
Today, Edgar Allan is happy enough designing clothes for bigger women.
