“Liwanag,” an exhibition of designs by Aze Ong, opened May 22 at the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) Gallery with a fashion show of her creations. The exhibit will run until June 22. Ong’s art consists of crochets turned into handmade jewelry, bags, necklaces and clothes.
“I believe art and life flow together. Experience is a recurring theme. I share ‘Liwanag’ through my art,” Ong said.
Ong said “Liwanag” is her way of “expressing enlightenment, sharing, healing and appreciation of beauty.”
The opening of the exhibit came with a fashion show with eleven models flaunting 32 looks made out of Ong’s crochets.
