‘Hamilton’ is coming to Manila, and we don’t think we can say no to this

Rise up, musical theater fans! “Hamilton” is finally making its Asian debut—right here in the Philippines. The Tony, Grammy, Olivier, and Pulitzer Prize-winning historical rap musical will be premiering this September at the Theater at Solaire for a limited time only.

The cast making its way to our shores is part of the production’s international touring cast. Prior to the Manila leg, the production debuted in Australia to critical acclaim.

Since the musical debuted in 2015, fans all over the world—and specifically in the Philippines—have been chomping at the bit to see it. The musical has garnered a cult following globally, and the Philippine “Hamilfans” are no exception.

“Hamilton’s fans from the Philippines have been telling us for years how much they want to see the show, many of them have traveled to see it all over the world. It is a thrill to, finally, be able to bring it to them,” said Hamilton international tour producer Michael Cassel.

The international tour will be teaming up with GMG Productions for its local engagement.

The international touring cast was announced on GMG Productions’ social media, and will include Rachelle Ann Go, who is reprising her role as Eliza Schuyler. She originally played the role in the West End run.

Like other runs of “Hamilton” in North America, the Manila leg will also have a digital ticket lottery through Ticketworld. Lottery winners will be given a chance to purchase two orchestra tickets for P1,600. The lottery for the next week’s performances will open every Monday at 10 a.m. and will close on Wednesday at 11:59 p.m. Ticket lottery winners will be updated by noon every Thursday for the upcoming week’s performances.
