All dioceses in the Philippines will simultaneously hold the “Total Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary” on June 8 at 10 a.m. as mandated by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines.
The faithful who will be at the cathedrals, parishes, chapels or even at home will make the “Act of Consecration to Mary” as one nation. Get a copy of the prayer from your parishes or be there for the 10 a.m Mass.
In Ermita Church, Fr. Sanny de Claro will preside over the Eucharistic celebration, while in Malate Church, Fr. John Leydon, parish priest, will be the celebrant.
The preface from the book of architect Marie Borromeo Cancio explains the rationale of the “Total Consecration” to Mary. It says: “The total consecration is the Blessed Trinity’s gift to us, the powerful means that will allow the Spirit of God to transform us. What we have not achieved through Edsa 1 and 2, God can now accomplish through a revolution of love.
“Our total surrender to God through Mama Mary opens us up to His great love and wisdom that transforms us without our knowing how, until our souls become so filled with love for God that it overflows into love for everyone.
“As our Mother has done, let us surrender ourselves entirely to God through the Total Consecration, as One People.”

‘A Century of Faith’
After celebrating the centenary of its foundation as a local church (April 10, 1910) and launching the “Decade of Evangelization and Renewal” (2012-2022) in preparation for the golden jubilee of its elevation into an ecclesiastical province (also called Metropolitan See), the Archdiocese of Lipa has published a coffee table book titled “A Century of Faith.”
The book was borne of the reflections of priests and lay faithful in the course of the special Jubilee year celebrated on April 10, 2010, to April 10, 2011. It contains facts gleaned from various documents, including testimonies from people which inspired Lipa Archbishop Ramon Arguelles and his team of writers to discover the mighty hand of God in their history as a province and as a local church.

Generous response
Our column on the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate in Cebu elicited generous response from our readers, according to Fr. Francis (0923-6637397). Ave Maria!
Let us continue helping while they pray for us, especially for our good health. Their convent is in Lahug, Cebu City. Adapting St. Maximilian Kolbe’s devotion to Mary Immaculate, the friars continue to offer prayers for us through the intercession of Mary.
