Shangri-La Plaza at Edsa is holding a month-long Father’s Day series.

 

“Konsyerto: A Musical Celebration of Independence,” featuring Diwa de Leon, Escape C and Jeff Pagaduan, will be held on June 14,  6 p.m. at the Grand Atrium.

 

De Leon became one of the biggest underground artists in the country when he launched the Hegalong Project on YouTub, where he attempts to blend the hegalong, a traditional two-stringed instrument, with electronic and chill-out music, giving an ethnic feel to contemporary music. He won the best sound and best musical score trophies in the 2011 Cinemalaya Film Festival.

 

The Saturday Group, one of Manila’s longest active arts group, will hold a weekend painting session at the East Atrium on June 15, 2-5 p.m.

 

“Jazz for You, Dad” will feature the Executive Band on June 16, 7 p.m., at the Grand Atrium.

 

Moreover, there will be a saxophone performance of musical compositions on June 21-23, at 5 and 7 p.m., at the Grand Atrium.

 

Finally, there will be the End of Summer Sale on June 12-July 21, with up to 70-percent discount on selected items mall-wide.
