CNN Hero of the Year Robin Lim releases 2 books on motherhood

CNN Hero of the Year 2011 Robin Lim releases two books on motherhood, “After the Baby’s Birth” and “Wellness for Mothers,” published by Anvil Publishing, Inc.

“After the Baby’s Birth” is a complete guide for women who just gave birth and is focused on natural and wholesome practices for optimal health. It gives mothers useful advice on breastfeeding, the crucial role of fathers, natural family planning and the importance of love.

“Wellness for Mothers” is a wonderful complement, a practical guide for mothers after childbirth. It shows and highlights how throughout the ages women have had a special relationship with healing herbs, wholesome foods and gentle exercise.

In the preface of “After the Baby’s Birth,” Lim writes, “Becoming a parent is most certainly one of your life’s most significant passages. As your child is born, you are reborn.” She also adds, “Research has now shown us what midwives have always known; that there is an exact connection between women, birth, babies, families, peace and the environment. We must remember that birth trauma interferes with the connection between heart and mind. It is this connection that is necessary for individuals to grow into the caring citizens of earth who protect one another and their environment.”

In “Wellness for Mothers,” Lim stresses that proper recovery is vital. “Because caring for yourself, and allowing others to help care for you, especially when you are postpartum, is essential. Right now your body and spirit are wide open for reinvention.”

Both books are now available at the parenting and health sections of National Book Store, PowerBooks and Bestsellers.
