Fila throws full support behind Philippine Volcanoes

Global sportswear brand Fila is known for its specialized product lines in running, basketball, racquet sports and golf.

 

It opened in the country in 1983, launching an apparel line and later specializing in footwear. Since then, it has become one of the country’s premier footwear brands, under the leadership of Fila Philippines owners Butch and Cris Albert.

 

Fila Philippines is a sponsor of the Philippine National Rugby Union Team, nicknamed the “Volcanoes.” Next to Japan, it’s the most successful team in the Asian Five Nations Tournaments, and is the country’s official representative to the international rugby union, palanggas.

This year marks a new era for the Philippine Volcanoes, dahlings, as the team competes in the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Moscow, Russia, on June 28-30. It’s a big first for the country and pride truly burns deep—even deeper for Fila Philippines, which will accompany the Volcanoes to the prestigious competition as the team’s official sponsor, said Cris  during a press conference at the Grand Ballroom of Cocoon Boutique Hotel (61 Sct. Après a gastronomic dinner and the rah-rah-rah cheering, Albert declared there will be no backing down as Fila Philippines throws its full support to the Volcanoes.

Nokia has just given the market two new reasons to get a smartphone today, when it launched the Nokia Lumia 720 and the Nokia Lumia 520.

 

The event coincided with Nokia’s “Color Your Story” roadshow, which rolled at SM Megamall with the announcement of Nokia’s Lumia 720 Consumer Test Drive.

 

Lots of Nokia and non-Nokia users were thrilled at the latest features of the Lumia 720 and 520, which were exhibited at a series of interactive booths.

Standout features were the exclusive Nokia camera lenses and Here Maps. Guests had fun answering an online quiz via the Nokia Philippines Facebook page that matched their personality with the features of the Lumia smartphones. Hey that’s really cool, palanggas!

 

“The release of the Nokia Lumia 720 and Nokia Lumia 520 reinforces our commitment to bring Windows-powered smartphones at lower prices and to more audiences,” said tall, dashing Karel Holub, Nokia Philippines’ dedicated general manager, dahlings.

 

Welcoming the guests were Gary Chan, Nokia head of marketing for Pan-Asia. One couldn’t miss Microsoft’s gang of three: Original Equipment Manager director Jerry Bongco; technical evangelist Chris Misola; and Operator Channel/Windows Phone Ronald Roldan.
