The latest wheels

AGNES Arellano’s “Anti Stress Wheelchair” is tactile rather than visual. It is covered with “breasts” of different sizes, complete with nipples. Made of silicon rubber, the breasts are located on the chair’s back seat, arm and footrest and are designed to pamper its occupant.

Dr. Joven Cuanang and I are pleased to report that the Apolinario Mabini sculptural wheelchairs are coming along nicely. These labors of love are slated for a small art parade on Apolinario Mabini’s birthday on July 20, which also coincides with Rehabilitation Week.

Tentative venue is The Mind Museum of Taguig, but if the sun shines, we will parade outdoors.

Donors of seed money for the art event are: Bonifacio Art Foundation, Ben Chan, Butch Santos, Ernest Escaler, The Mind Museum, Paulino Que, Pinto Gallery, St. Luke’s Medical Center, Joven Cuanang and Gilda Cordero-Fernando.
