The book launching of “Bancom Memoirs” written by Sixto K. Roxas (SKR) will be held on Monday, July 1st, at the Ballroom of Dusit Thani Hotel. A short ceremonial program will start at 5 p.m.
Bancom was the pioneering investment bank that was the dominant force in the Philippine financial markets beginning the mid 1960s through the 1970s. It spurred the development of the domestic money market and was the prime architect of the Treasury Bills market.
Prominent guests, as well as hundreds of Bancom alumni, are expected to attend the book launching to honor SKR for his outstanding career as an economic planner, investment banker and environmentalist, and who will be marking his 86th birthday this year.
The long list of distinguished Bancom alumni in diverse fields of endeavor include: PSE Chair Jose Pardo, Makati Business Club Chair Ramon del Rosario Jr., UP President Alfredo Pascual, ABS-CBN CEO Charo Santos-Concio, Porsche-Audi distibutor Robert Coyiuto, PDIC president Valentin Araneta and PLDT chairman Manuel Pangilinan, to name a few.
Pangilinan, whose PLDT-Smart Foundation published the book jointly with the Bancom Alumni Inc., will deliver the keynote remarks at the ceremony. Roxas will be available to autograph books purchased at the launch.
