NCCA calls for project proposals for its 2014 Grants Program | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the country’s leading government agency for the arts and culture headed by Chairman Felipe de Leon  Jr., encourages cultural and art groups, academic institutions, local arts organizations and others involved in culture and arts to submit project proposals for the 2014 NCCA Grants Program. Deadline is Aug. 30.

The NCCA administers the National Endowment Fund for Culture and the Arts (Nefca), from where the NCCA Grants Program is sourced.

Through its grants program, the NCCA provides funds for projects for the promotion, development and conservation of Philippine culture and arts.

Proposals should capture the aspiration of the arts and culture community, as expressed in NCCA’s vision for the 21st century: “Filipino culture as the wellspring of national and global well being.”

Proposals should cover any or all of the following major programs set by the NCCA for 2013-2016: Program for Cultural Education, Program for Cultural Diplomacy, Program for Conservation of Cultural Heritage, Program for Culture and Development, and Program for Artistic Excellence and Creativity.

More specifically, the priority projects for 2014 have been defined by the 19 national committees under the NCCA four subcomissions: the National Committees on Architecture and Allied Arts, Cinema, Dance, Dramatic Arts, Literary Arts, Music, and Visual Arts (all under the Subcommission on the Arts); the National Committees on the Northern, Central and Southern Cultural Communities (Subcommission on Cultural Communities and Traditional Arts); the National Committees on Archives, Art Galleries, Libraries and Information Services, Historical Research, Monuments and Sites, Museums (Subcommission on Cultural Heritage); and the National Committees on Cultural Education, Communication, and Language and Translation (Subcomission on Cultural Dissemination).

Applicants may submit proposals to the NCCA Competitive Grants, or to the Institutional Programs (Outreach, Experts and Resource Persons Bureau, and Technical Assistance).

Copy of the project proposal form may be downloaded from www.ncca.gov.ph (go to “Grants Program”).

Accomplished project proposals must be submitted to Marichu G. Tellano, PPFPD chief.

Proposals must be stamped received by the PPFPD. Only one proposal per proponent can be submitted.
