Fila first lady Cris Albert celebrated an elegant, dual birthday bash with her pal Ruffa Gutierrez recently.
Cris’ parties usually meld the worlds of sports, fashion, business, politics, celebrity and corporate responsibility. So this particular affair certainly didn’t disappoint!
The chi-chi sit-down dinner revolved around an extravagant “Baroque” theme, in true lavish Cris Albert style, natch! It pulled all the fabulous elements together, as shown by the amazing saffrons, lilacs and deep reds of the voluminous confections created by florist extraordinaire Robert Blancaflor that spilled over the Baroque-style, over-the-top banquet tables.
The floral arrangements, mind you, combined all sorts of exotic flowers such as peonies and tulips imported from Holland, palanggas.
Cris’ pals such as Sari Yap, Grace Ang, Small Laude and Alice Eduardo “ooh-ed” and “aah-ed” at the fantastic arrangements. Guests sipped endlessly on Dom Perignon while the menu boasted of rich dishes such as Blue Swimmer Crab served two ways; Chorizo Seared Arctic Sea Scallops; Slow-Roasted French Duck Breast; US Angus Beef Tenderloin; and the sinfully divine 3 Swiss Chocolate treat.
But the sweet cravings didn’t end there: über-talented Penk Ching had whipped up the decadent fondant Banana Walnut birthday cake. Her muse was Margaret Braun, a sugar artist who has redefined the art of cake decorating. The sweet-toothed guests made a beeline for the cake, attracted as they were by its striking combination of red, orange, gold and blue colors, and its Swarovski crystals, wow!
As in her previous birthday bashes, hubby Butch Albert, Fila chair, and some guests performed Cris’ fave songs. Her dearest friends also stepped up to give heartwarming tributes to the celebrator.
With a bash like this, expect social victims and a dash of party suspects to be present. Oh well! La di da! Di bala, palanggas.
Svenson turns 32
Svenson International celebrated its 32nd anniversary, dahlings, as the leading anti-hair-loss center in the country.
It was a fun whole-day happening for all five centers with the Svenson’s top managers—Makati’s Teresa Cruz, Alabang’s Liza Viray, Cebu’s Angela Roces, Tomas Morato’s Mavic Asero and Binondo’s Margaret Quan—leading the welcome committee and entertaining the hotshot invitees, dahlings. (My super pal Robin Horsman, one of Svenson’s bosses, was out of the country.)
Food and drinks by Hizon’s Catering were served to clients and famous personalities such as Allan Caidic, Mark Gil and moi, and other Svenson die-hard followers, palanggas. Despite the flurry of activity, it was business as usual for Svenson as clients came in for their regular treatment sessions.
Naturellement, a Svenson anniversary wouldn’t be complete without fabulous promo offerings. Everyone can avail oneself of three scalp corrective treatments for free upon an initial hair and scalp analysis, which is also free of charge.
And just in time for this anniversary, Svenson launched its campaign on early hair-loss prevention, the “Anti-Hair Loss New StemPlus: The Professional Choice.”
“A result of scientific stem-cell research is the new topical anti-hair-loss treatment acclaimed by leading trichologists in the US and Europe. But StemPlus is not suitable for everybody,” said Michael Bernstein, chief trichologist of USA Svenson.
Svenson’s newest endorsers are the hilarious duo Chico and Gino of the highly rated radio show “The Morning Rush” on RX 93.1.
And for those who need a hair and scalp maintenance program to retain their thick, healthy, youthful hair, like mine, a visit to Svenson is just what they need. As you can see, it’s been working for me for the longest time.
