Music meets fashion at Market! Market! show

AYALA Malls’ Market! Market! presented a remarkable celebration of style and sound. The show, entitled “Fashion Beats” and directed by Jackie Aquino, put the spotlight on Market! Market!’s summer fashion and the music of Up Dharma Down.

“Ayala has been known to celebrate the arts, combining fashion and music and thus validating the idea that we Filipinos are a music-loving people,” says fashion director Jackie Aquino of the show’s theme.

Market! Market!’s featured local and international brands Bayo, Blued, Collezione C2, Folded & Hung, Freeway, Get Laud, Gingersnaps, Giordano, Greta, Jag, Jockey, Just G., Maldita, Marithe Francois Girbaud, Levi’s, Mental, Merrell, Nava, Osh Kosh B’Gosh, Payless Shoe Source, Plains & Prints, Skechers, Style Essentials by Adidas, Unica Hija, Wade and Wrangler presented designs that were mostly light in hues and prints.

Hosted by celebrity and fashionista Cheska Garcia, Market! Market!’s “Fashion Beats” is a unique collaboration between fashion and live music on the runway. Model and TV personality Phoemela Barranda also graced the event for the Get Laud! collection. Up Dharma Down played a series of applauded songs, adding to the evening’s excitement.

Ayala Malls’ Style Origins series is a testament to the nation’s passion for music that inspires a lifestyle. Next stops will be Bonifacio High Street (May 21) featuring The Brass Munkeys, and at the Abreeza (May 22) featuring Rico Blanco. Marina Benipayo
