Instagram user since: December 2011
Why she took the plunge: “I just wanted to follow some friends (okay, and some celebrities) who are into the app, but eventually thought it was a good venue to extend my drawing blog. I draw as a hobby and it’s a nice way to connect with others who share the same interest.”
What you’ll see on her feed: “Kiddie illustrations and photos based on anything I find interesting—tips, tricks, recipes, and quotes.”
Favorite Instagram subjects: “Food (desserts!) and cute items.”
Favorite filter: “I hardly use any filter but I equally like Valencia and X-Pro II. Valencia adds some drama with its faded effect, while X-Pro II’s vignette edges give focus on certain details.”
Favorite Instagram-related apps: “Pic Jointer and Frame Artist for collaging.”
Instagram video—yes or no? “Yes! I haven’t posted any video yet but I think it’s a really cool feature.”
Instagram pet peeves: “Keywords are not searchable unless they are used as hashtags.”
Her five favorite Instagram users:
“@passionforbaking—The blogger behind it always posts her baking shots in style (and in pastel colors!).”
“My newlywed friends @lorraelena & @elbertor—I love Lor’s cute illustrations and DIY crafting stuff while Elbert has interesting visual notes and comic book art. They also give glimpses of their young married life.”
“@bigbluefish—My Singapore-based friend’s food and travel photos are always fun and colorful.”
“@carawarabara—My sister posts just about anything. It’s interesting to stalk her online; I get to find out what she had for breakfast or if she’s still stuck in traffic.”
