Ballet Manila postpones ‘Lola Basyang’ shows

MANILA, Philippines—Due to the current situation in Metro Manila and parts of Luzon brought about by inclement weather, Ballet Manila is postponing the performances of its latest production, “Tatlo Pang Kuwento ni Lola Basyang”, scheduled this weekend or on August 23, 24 and 25.

 

The opening night, originally scheduled on August 23, will be moved to August 30, Friday, 7:30 p.m., at Aliw Theater, CCP Complex, Pasay City.

 

All Ticketworld purchases of tickets for the August 23, 24 and 25 shows will be honored on August 30, or on other shows scheduled in September.

 

The new schedule of other performances is as follows: August 30, Friday, 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; August 31, Saturday, 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.; September 1, Sunday, 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.; September 6, Friday, 1 p.m.; September 7, Saturday, 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.; September 8, Sunday, 11a.m. and 3 p.m.; September 14, Saturday, 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.; and September 22, Sunday, 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

“Tatlo Pang Kuwento ni Lola Basyang” is Ballet Manila’s initial offering for its 18th performance season. Based on Anvil Publishing’s “Ang Mga Kuwento ni Lola Basyang” ni Severino Reyes, the production is the much-awaited follow-up to the all-Filipino blockbuster ballet “Tatlong Kuwento ni Lola Basyang” which premiered in 2008.
