Get hooked on old forks

METAL forks mounted as wall hooks

“Boring” is never a good description to hear about one’s home. If you’ve got a little time on your hands (a few minutes after work for around a week will do), you’ll find that “hooking up” with this project might just be the next big thing your friends will be scrambling to imitate. It’s also a great gift to make for birthdays or for Christmas.

What you’ll need:

  • Three metal forks, preferably not rusty

  • Piece of wood, cleaned and sanded lightly, to set the fork “hooks”

  • Heavy-duty pliers

  • Picture frame hooks

Have holes drilled on the handles.

Use screws to fit in holes on fork handles.

Place the three forks where you want them positioned on your piece of wood. Mark their positions. Drill marks on wood for the screws.

Using your heavy-duty pliers, bend fork tines into curlicues or any direction you prefer. The beauty of this project is you can make any design you want.

Screw the fork “hooks” onto the wood securely.

Now you’ve got a conversation piece your friends are bound to notice.

Tip: Choose forks with interesting handle designs.
